The Vegetable Processing Donation Program, implemented in 2014 through a partnership between the Fédération québécoise des producteurs de fruits et légumes de transformation and Bonduelle Amériques, allows producers of peas, beans, sweet corn, and other vegetables for processing to donate a portion of their crop to feed Quebecers in need. In exchange of their donation, our network agrees to harvest the donated crops, which are delivered to and processed by Bonduelle Amériques, and then distributed by the Food Banks of Quebec network.
During the 2016 season, we received over 160,000 kilograms of frozen and canned vegetables through the Vegetable Processing Program. This represents more than 70,000 kg of our initial objective!
